All –
I hope this post finds you well. I am writing to you on the day after Thanksgiving to share a story. This past year has been a true blessing to me. I took a “real” job which pays well. During the past week, I was walking down the stairs at my office building and I saw a small Christmas tree standing in the lobby. The tree was a charity tree erected by a student organization. Hung on each branch of the tree were construction paper ornaments with items that needy children and families need. I’m sure most of you have seen a similar tree before. I stood their realizing how very blessed I am – I have a loving family, many great friends, and comfortable lifestyle. I’m very glad and very humbled that I am now in a position to donate items to local charities to help my local community. I hope that my donations will be able to help people and families who need a hand during the holidays. I’m going to take a handful of these ornaments and make the holidays a little better for a few people.
In the holiday spirit of giving instread of recieving, I call on each of you, in your own personal way, to remember families who are not as fortunate as yourself. Some of you might still be in school and have the financial hardships earning an education presents. Other might be, like me, in a position where you can offer assistance. I encourage you all to donate to a charity of your choice. There are many charities in the Las Cruces area who are worthy causes. Several that come to mind are:
Don’t forget about charity trees like the one I found. Your donation doesn’t have to be a toy or items or money. Some of the best donations are in-kind donation: your time at a soup kitchen or visiting a retirement home to lend an ear.
Shoot me an email with your experience (mrnelson06@gmail.com)! I’m excited to see what impact we can make :)
In the holiday spirit, God bless,
Morgan

That is going to be hard considering that you have the wrong parts for that. But if you wanted to adopt a child in my honor, I would approve. :)
